Healthy Living Institute at UMC

Irma of the Healthy Living Institute was very helpful in educating us on ans assisting us with the proper installation of a child’s car seat. She gave us invaluable insight into the importance of having a properly installed child’s car seat and the potential harm that may occur to a child if the vehicle is in a accident the the child’s seat is not properly installed. She was super helpful and definitely gets high marks in customer service.

Their classes are awesome, open to the public and no cost! They helped me prepare for the arrival of my baby. I was able to take breastfeeding prep, baby basics and an infant massage class. All were great! Irma also helpful me install my car seat and gave me tips to ensure proper fit.

Erin was extremely kind and helpful. I called because we needed help installing a car seat for our grandson. She was very patient and was ready to help when my husband arrived at the facility. We appreciate all she did to help us be prepared to pick up our grandson.

I am pregnant and I am taking some of their classes. Xochilt was amazing at explaining in detail the childbirth class. I have also taken their baby basics and breastfeeding and the resources they offered helped me a lot and gave me so much information I didn’t know

This place is such a blessing! It’s by far the fastest and most convenient for Covid testing. My family and I have been here twice and have had other family members go as well and we all collectively agree that we don’t want to go anywhere else.

The staff greet you, they are kind and super professional. Maricella at the front desk caught an error in my sons file and made sure it was corrected and took the time to make a new one. Irma, who performs the Covid tests is so gentle and fast!

In and out in less than 30 minutes and no waiting time? You can’t find a better place than this!

What can I say about the staff at the Healthy Living Institute, other then they’re AMAZING! I absolutely love coming here from the classes to the car seat installs. I just came today for another car seat install since my son just upgraded car seats and Erin was absolutely amazing! She had another tech assisting (I’m so sorry I forgot your name) and she was wonderful too! They answered all of my questions and took their time showing me how to install the car seat for my son. They also showed me it was time to upgrade my daughters car seat as well (thank you so much for that!). I will be forever grateful to the team at the Healthy Living Institute. Thank you all for all you do. You are all wonderful! Shout out to Amy who answered my email so quickly when I was scheduling the car seat install!

This is one of the best kept secrets in terms of prenatal and postnatal preparation in the valley. All of the services we have used have far exceeded our expectations. From breastfeeding basics to car seat inspection, all of the Institute’s specialists are highly qualified and go above and beyond. This place is amazing and an awesome resource for mommies-to-be and new moms. I have come here numerous times for various complementary services. Insurance or no insurance this place is an oasis! I had my car seat placement verified by Xochitl RN and went to one of her “Mindfulness in Childbirth” class. Xochitl is very sweet, caring and a guru of maternal-child topics. I also received various baby items (diapers, wipes, clothes, baby medical supplies, and breast pads.) I have seen Collette the nurse lactation consultant a few times. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate.

This place is one of a kind. There is so much offered here. I recommend going on their website and checking it out!

Some of you may know this place as the Family Resource Center but they have gone through a major change and have emerged as the Healthy Living Institute of UMC. What does this mean? They have expanded to not only assist pregnant women but have now become a wellness center offering all kinds of unique classes. They offer classes in yoga, Zumba, meditation, stretching, tai chi, walk with a doctor, women’s health and other topics. All classes are FREE! Yep, no cost to anyone in the community. They have a monthly schedule which allows you to view the classes online as well as a brochure that provides a full description of each class and the dates and times. You are able to sign up for the classes online and they even provide a reminder call for your upcoming scheduled class. The only downfall is that they are only open during the normal work week which for some can be a challenge being able to attend a class. They have relocated as well. They are now located on Rancho Lane inside the Delta Point office building instead of being behind Del Taco off of Shadow Lane, but it was a positive move. The new building is really nice. It is beautifully decorated and makes one feel comfortable.

The class I took today was taught by a physician on women’s health. They provided a light lunch and the class was an open forum where not only was the physician speaking but many of us were able to ask questions and interact. I found the class interesting and helpful. The staff are really warm and friendly and they make you feel welcome. I have now signed up for the Zumba class and Intro to Tai Chi. I am excited and hoping these classes are what I am looking for. If you find yourself in the area or are looking to improve your overall well being, I would suggest you check this place out.
