My brother once inquired about an epic dinner the crew took down, of which I told him we were celebrating a birthday, a breakup, a bad date, something darn it. He retorted “dude, you’re always celebrating!” I replied, “well life is worth celebrating!” That’s not a joke to me. Life is worth celebrating, and I believe this at my core. I have read this countless times from literature and leaders I follow. There are millions more than you wishing they could be doing what you are doing right now, so stop complaining, be grateful for what you have, and work. No one cares, just work. These epic take downs are achievements from years of hard work leading to this moment today. I’m grateful for never checking out of life when I could have back in Chicago, and I have no regrets inked on my left sleeve. Barry’s Prime was on my bucket list and this feast was epic: jumbo shrimp cocktail [extra virgin olive oil, cracked pepper, spicy cocktail sauce], steak tartare [beef tenderloin, dijon, horseradish, quail egg, toasted brioche], dozen oysters, lobster bisque [maine lobster, brandy, crème frâiche], 44 oz. double ribeye steak [creekstone farms, arkansas city, ks] with fresh truffles [shaved tableside], whole maine lobster mac ‘n cheese, loaded baked potato [bacon, sour cream, cheddar, chive butter], classic crème brûlée [fresh berries and orange pistachio biscotti], and banana cream pie [graham cracker crust, loads of bananas loads of whipped cream, chocolate pecan crunch]. The wine, the desserts, the sides, especially the lobster mac & cheese were awesome. The steak wasn’t the largest I’ve taken down but it was beyond flavorful. Would I recommend this place? Yes, especially if you’re staying at Circa but Fremont can be challenging at times. The crew as usual had a blast, at the center most table, loud as rockstars, and living our best lives!
